Position Overview

My client are seeking a Part-Time Estimator / Project Manager to join their team in a flexible, remote capacity. This position offers 20 hours per week, with the freedom to work evenings and weekends to accommodate your schedule. The ideal candidate will have experience in estimating and managing electrical construction projects, particularly within the federal contracting space.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating:

  • Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and RFPs to generate accurate cost estimates for electrical construction projects.
  • Perform material and labor take-offs, solicit quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, and prepare detailed bid proposals.
  • Ensure all proposals comply with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and agency-specific requirements.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site assessments as needed.

Project Management:

  • Manage and oversee the execution of awarded projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and government representatives to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress, address any issues or delays, and handle change orders and other project adjustments.
  • Prepare and submit necessary documentation, including project schedules, submittals, and final closeout reports.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical estimating and/or project management, with a strong preference for experience with federal government contracts (e.g., USACE, NAVFAC, NASA).
  • Familiarity with DOD contracting procedures, FAR guidelines, and federal procurement processes.
  • Proficiency in electrical estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks independently.
  • Must be U.S. citizen (for security clearance eligibility).
  • PMP, PE, or LEED certifications are a plus, but not required.
