Income Accounting Officer

Join a local authority income team and help maintain accurate rent, service charge, and recharge accounts. You will support arrears recovery, respond to resident enquiries, and contribute to high standards of income management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update resident accounts accurately and promptly
  • Manage charges, payments, and Direct Debit collections
  • Monitor accounts for overpayments and benefit changes
  • Assist with arrears recovery and debt management arrangements
  • Issue Digital Payment and Allpay cards
  • Liaise with benefits teams and respond to resident enquiries
  • Support quarterly rent statements and outgoing tenant checks
  • Contribute to team targets and identify opportunities for process improvement

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in office administration and customer support
  • Good standard of general education (GCSE/O Level Grade C/3 including English and Maths)
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to work to deadlines
  • ICT literate (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable using databases or housing management systems
  • Knowledge of debt recovery and welfare benefits (Universal Credit/PIP)
  • Team player with a positive, energetic approach and commitment to customer service
