Are you an experienced stress / structures engineer looking to take your career to the next level?

We are seeking an innovative Aerospace Stress / Structures Engineer to take the lead on research, planning, and performing comprehensive stress analysis projects for customers within the aircraft interiors arena Your expertise will be crucial in developing cutting-edge prototypes and providing unique solutions to customer.

You will have the opportunity to further develop your skills across the following areas.

  • Classical stress analysis of composite and metallic structures.
  • FEM idealization and modelling practices using FEMAP, NASTRAN, or other FEA packages.
  • Reviewing engineering drawings and models for structural integrity and compliance with FAA regulations
  • Completing qualification plans, interface loads reports, static test plans, dynamic test plans and damage / abuse investigations.
  • Research and investigate structural design solutions.
  • Coordinating with the integrated product team (IPT) of design engineers, electrical engineers, materials engineers and the programmes team as the representative of the stress team. as the stress engineering representative. Other disciplines within the team include design engineers, electrical engineers, flammability engineering, purchasing, operations and program management.
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of functional work instructions, processes, documentation and guidelines.
  • Presenting and explaining analysis information and assumptions to both internal teams and the customer in both a technical and no technical way.

You will need to have

  • A Batchelors degree within a STEM subject such as Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or significant work experience within the sector ( 5 years plus)
  • Excellent experience of Hand Calculations and FE Analysis using tools such as FEMAP, NASTRAN, ANSYS or similar.
  • Experience of developing automation tools using excel API, Python, .NET or similar.

Beneficial Experience

  • Aerospace industry experience, ideally within aircraft interiors or secondary structures.
  • CBA (Certification by Analysis) of aircraft secondary structures or interiors.
  • NX (formally Unigraphics) and Siemens Teamcenter or similar 3D CAD tools used in a interiors or aerospace environment.
  • Qualification Test Programs for Boeing & Airbus programs
  • Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) or Production Line support experience.
